IPL (Intense Pulse Light) is the future of the beauty industry. In 5 years time waxing will be replaced by other forms of hair control which at the present time will be either IPL or Laser.
The main difference between IPL and laser is that IPL is easier to use and safer in the hands of most operators.
Quality IPL machines with cooling systems are also much less painful to the client than laser machines. In general laser will be more expensive to operate and the treatment times are significantly longer. IPL is also more flexible than laser and allows you to offer the following treatments to your customers:
Permanent hair reduction
Pigmented lesion reduction
Vascular treatments
Skin rejuvenation
Acne treatments
The Spectrum 2000 Professional IPL system from MagicSkin is amongst the most technically advanced IPL machines on the market today. Treatments are fast and efficient and your clients will see results faster than most machines on the market today. Three spot sizes make large and small jobs a breeze !
Unique software interface
Our software interface allows you to program the Spectrum 2000 in simple or professional mode. Most salons will be content intitially with simple mode where you simply answer a few questions about your client and the Spectrum sets up the recommended treatment progam for you at the touch of a button. As you become more experienced though you will appreciate the extra flexibilty that our Professional mode will give you which allows you to create your own treatment parameters. There are a total of 339 preset settings to choose from.

Why a Spectrum of light is important
Light at different wavelengths penetrates the skin to different depths. If the area to be treated is deep or shallow you must use a different wavelength of light so that you can penetrate the skin to the correct depth. The roots of underarm and pubic hair grow deeper than chest or facial hair. It therefore makes more sense to use a filter that will penetrate deeper into the skin for pubic hair than it does for facial hair for example. Pigmentation is an example where you might like to try the 510 and 560 filter on the first treatment to see which has the best effect as judging how deep the pigmentation is can be difficult to gauge by eye alone. The same is true for almost every treatment you will perform so having a choice of filters available to you can be invaluable in getting the absolute best results for your client.
The broadband light spectrum graph below also shows that there are different wavelengths of light that have the best absorption for different treatments. A good example is hemoglobin (blood) which is represented by the red line on the graph above. It shows that the best absorption wavelength is 420nm but there are also peaks at 510nm and 560nm. Your decision on which filter to use is therefore going to be a choice between these three filters. Your final selection will then be based on the depth of the veins to be treated. Don't worry - once you have been trained it won't seem that complicated !
Selection of Spot Sizes
The Spectrum has three spot sizes: 12 x 25mm; 12 x 35 and 15 x 50. We have a unique design in our handles that results in 100% power over every treatment head with zero peripheral loss. This means no overlapping that in turn means less work for you and less cost per treatment!
Unique handle design
Our handles use only the best American Xenon lamps. They have been designed so that you get 100% power across the whole spot and there is no need for overlapping during treatments. The handles are designed in a way that means you do not have to adjust power settings for different spot sizes, a feature we believe is unique to the Spectrum.
Tiny water channels draw heat from both our heat exchangers and Xenon lamp giving the Spectrum its very efficient cooling system.
Adjustable Temperature Control
For most treatments you will want as cold a head as possible to reduce the discomfort of your client. However when it comes to vascular treatments you will generally not want cooling. The Spectrum has variable temperature control from +2 degrees C down to -5 degrees C. We have developed a very efficient cooling system which combines water and sophisticated cooling chips in the head.
RF Option available
A combination of IPL and RF has been shown to produce better results for both hair reduction and photorejuvenation. It also gives you a fighting chance of helping your clients with blonde hair that could not normally be treated for hair reduction. RF is available for a small extra charge. What is RF? click here
Modularised for easy repair
We don't want to think about our machines breaking down but it can happen. We have designed the Spectrum 2000 with Australasian conditions in mind and have modularised the interior so it can be repaired by anyone - even a motivated husband. With the modular interior we can get a local electrician to repair your machine - no experts required.
Full Spectrum of colours to match your salon decor!
It is not the most important feature of our incredible Spectrum 2000 but if you want your Spectrum spiced up a little to match your salon decor we can produce your IPL machine in any colour you want. There is a small extra cost but if you want to be that little bit different why not !
Detailed Specifications
Many manufacturers seem to be resistant to providing you with all of their specifications. You should insist that they provide these to you as it is almost impossible to judge machines without them. Our detailed specifications can be downloaded here. We will be happy to provide you with more information on request.
Make sure you also ask them for the price of spare parts before you buy. Stelisi and the manufacturer are not interested in making money out of spare parts and any repairs will be very reasonably priced in the unfortunate event they are needed.
